Finding the Positive in the Pandemic
Here’s a story from a member of our customer family that we hope will encourage you.
I never realized how much running meant to me until now. Before, running was just a part of my daily routine. It was something I took for granted. If someone asked “Why do you run?” I’d retort with, “Why do you brush your teeth?” It seemed like a silly question. To me, running is as innate as breathing. But now, running has a different meaning. I don’t just roll out of bed, put on my shoes and go through the motions. No more wishing I could skip a day and drink coffee. My mind normally races faster than my feet. Not anymore. It took a pandemic to slow me down, to realize that running is my solace, my steady, my rock. It’s that loyal friend with the secret crush. The one that I always come back to, even when I get distracted by other sports that turn out to be complicated or unfulfilling. Running is always there patiently waiting with open arms, no judgement or resentment. If I’ve learned anything from this, it’s that experiences matter more than things in life. Every run is a new experience. I can count on it to lift my spirits, give me hope and cherish the now. Running is getting me through this crisis, one step at a time. – Jen Noble
