DESCRIPTION:Join us for The St. Pete Mile on Global Running Day! Whether you’re looking to run your first ever mile or you’re trying to crush your personal best\, this is for you! This is friendly\, inclusive and FUN event for people of all ages and abilities! \nWe will race on Wednesday\, June 5th under the lights on the Track at Northside Christian School\, 7777 62nd Ave North in St. Pete. \nThe Run/Race Distance is 1 mile. \nThe cost to register is $10. \nREGISTER HERE: https://raceroster.com/events/2024/89898/the-st-pete-mile \nThe $10 gets you: race entry and bib \nKids 12 & Under can participate for free! \nThe events commence at 6:30. There will be multiple heats of the mile so participants can run with people of comparable speed. \nProvisional Event Schedule:\n6:00 PM – Arrival & Registration Begins\n6:30 – Kids 1-Lap 400 meters (12 and under race Free)\n6:35 – Kids 1-Mile (12 and under race free)\n6:50 – Believe Mile – 12:00 – 15:00 pace\n7:10 pm – Achieve Mile -9:00 – 12:00 pace.\n7:35 pm – Moxie Mile – 7:00 – 9:00 Pace\n7:45 – Championship Mile Female – Under 7:00 minute pace ($50 for the top female)\n7:55 – Championship Mile Male – Under 7:00 minute pace ($50 for the top male)\n8:10 – Pace Your Race – Estimate finish time & closest finisher wins $50. Meet at Northside Christian School (Address: 7777 62nd Ave N\, St. Petersburg\, FL 33709)\n\nAbout the Program: \nThis program has been developed to help increase your pace and prepare you for half marathon distance! We have assembled an expert coaching team to take your running to another level. Attendees should expect to become stronger\, more efficient & faster at running. We will be focusing on threshold and endurance for this program. Bring a water bottle\, a towel\, running clothes and running shoes! \nCost: \n$120.00 for a 10-week Speedwork Program. Drop-in rate is $15. \nKids under 13 can join for free at the evening track session \nWhat to bring: Running Shoes and running clothing. Also bring 1 bottle of water and 1 bottle of sports drink\, a beach towel or yoga mat\, and a snack to eat on the way home after training. \nWhat to expect:  We will do a light jog to warm up for 10-15 minutes\, followed by some dynamic stretching and easy drills. Don’t worry\, we’ll teach you all of this stuff. The coaches will break you into pace groups and you’ll run the workout. Your coach will tell you what paces or “splits” you’ll want to do when they explain the workout for the night. Then the running workout which will slowly increase in distance over the 10 week program. After the running workout there will be a recovery/cool down jog or walk. At the end we will have a short core strengthening session.
