A Fun and Motivational Swim Program for Adults

 

Swim St. Pete has been developed to help you maintain and increase your endurance and proficiency in the swimming pool. We’ve assembled a coaching team of experienced swimmers and accomplished triathletes to take your swim training to new depths.

Attendees should expect to become more efficient and stronger swimmers. Bring goggles, a towel, a swim cap, a water bottle and your A-game.

What: Bi-weekly pool workouts led by expert coaches

When: Tuesday and Friday mornings at 5:30 am sharp!

Who is it open to?: Swim St Pete is open to competent swimmers looking to become more proficient and efficient with their technique. (This is not a swimming lesson class; this is a coached training session.  If you need swim lessons, contact us directly for a swim coach.)

What to bring: Goggles, swim cap and a towel. Also bring water or a sports drink and a snack to eat on the way home after training.

What to expect: The workout will be broken down into warm-ups & drills, a main set and a cool down. The coaches will break you into pace groups and lanes to complete your specific workout. Expect to share lanes with your pacing group!

ABOUT THE COACHES:

Cody Magda

Cody found his love for swimming at a very young age and grew up at the local YMCA pool. He began around 8 years old, when it took everything he had to swim just one length of the pool, and started to swim competitively throughout high school. He had an offer to swim in college but declined in favor of becoming a rescue swimmer in the Navy, which he did for 6 years. In 2016 he found the sport of triathlon (his debut was a mere half Ironman!) which led him to open-water swimming and opened his eyes to a whole new world and passion.

“Swimming has been a huge part of my life and I look forward to sharing my experience with all of you in this awesome journey of life. So come dive in with us and lose yourself!”

 

Ryan Stran

Ryan started swimming 5 years ago at the local gym. With his running background, swimming didn’t necessarily come naturally to him, but he was highly motivated to improve and spent 5 days a week in the pool. Add to that countless hours spent studying swim technique videos, swim drills, learning how to build swim workouts, and becoming familiar with all facets of this new sport.  He eventually decided to take on the challenge of a triathlon and in that found a sport that changed his life completely.
