NEWTON Running Shoes at SPRC

The Monday Group Run had over 50 people come out to do a NEWTON test run. The staff from NEWTON Running brought in several different shoe types for people to try. No obligation to buy! Everyone had the opportunity to test out shoes during the Group Run, and many people took advantage of the offer. For those who loved the NEWTON test run enough to buy a pair, they also received a $50 SPRC gift card!

A couple of examples of what you'll find in the store

Motion (Men's)

Have you tried NEWTON Running shoes yet? Here's why you should:

  • LOWER STRESS: The forefoot strike happens naturally, encouraging proper running form.

  • LESS VERTICAL MOTION: Forefoot strike keeps you rolling smoothly over terrain without wasting your energy going up and down.

  • LESS ENERGY LOSS: Actuator lugs (the extra material on the forefoot) return impact energy into forward motion, translating up to 58% more energy return.

THE 3 STEPS TO NEWTON RUNNING

  1. POSTURE: Find your proper posture by standing straight and tall, relaxing your shoulders, and looking to the horizon.

  2. POSITION: Level your hips and slightly flex your knees and ankles. Relax your arms and bend them 45 to 90 degrees at the elbow.

  3. CADENCE: Run in place, with your feet landing as close to your body as possible. Notice how you land relaxed and use your whole foot. Your stride will lengthen as you increase speed, but your cadence should be between 170 and 190 steps/minute for most running speeds. Stride lengthens with improved core strength and stability.
